There's a reason anyone with any above-average of computer literacy uses scripts to do everything else on their computer. It only makes sense to apply it to Guild Wars.

I'm sure people who played the market manually for years kicked and screamed when eTrade and other companies began letting them place stop-loss measures and such, but that's how the world works.

And since I'm really starting to doubt ANet's ability to respond to the botting issue, I'll go ahead and say it:

I read the first and a couple other posts throughout this thread. And laughed the whole time doing it... There is a way to prevent botting, but stopping it completely is out of the question. It's extremely pointless to stay here and complain about it. One argument I noticed was "people selling 1000's of cupcakes and..." who cares. I knew people who had enough time to farm all that and then some. Some people power trade. buy low sell high make money and repeat.... /not signed because we need content update not ban hammer update.

People don't run multiple raptor bot for avoiding griding asura title, they also don't run pvp interupt bot for the same reason.

Sorry bro, it's true. They either have profit for their game goal or they like to have their pvp ego boosted.

Hate to burst your bubble but there is no design flaw, you expecting titles to be a short term goal and grinding them so you don't have to invest time is a failure on your part. Sorry bro, it's true.

Who wouldnt want to get through these grindy titles faster? Like Zahr said its automation, bot can be running while youre at work, get those rep titles up so youre more easily accepted into groups.

Or for gold/items for your armor/shinies...

When titles were first created people took there time and got it done fine, but now with gw2 coming noobs are looking for an easy way to max all there titles fast.

Bots for both of those, consequences of poor design on ArenaNet's part.

Again, i don't have to tell you how pretty much anyone can afford multiple set of elite armor playing normally (or even with few hour of botting), no they run bot's all day to buy stack of ectos, rare minis and weapon.

But guess want, no one need those to play the game, you have the choice to buy any of those very good looking and cheap weapon skins, you dont need a bds just to show off.

If you want play a game where you can just type /give xxx go play diablo in single player. I don't think anyone here think 15k's armor are actually so hard to get you have to bot them.

And like i repeated many times, PvP bots just confirm what i said. You can reduce the cost of every single thing in this game so that even someone who just started an account can get it in few minutes, people will still bot.

There is never a need, there are wants. As long as the game features repetitive time investment there will be bots. Titles, minipets, armour, rare weapons, rare crafting materials, gold, etc - all combine to cause botting.
